SHABBY CHRISTMAS TREE TUTORIAL

Our monthly shabby tutorial is back after a short break and this month our new Shabby Girl Olga is showing us how she has created this gorgoeus mini Christmas tree.

Step 1

Make a sketch of the tree. You will need another tree made with the same pattern but smaller. For the second fir tree I simply outlined the first pattern indenting a little bit.

Step 2

Trace and cut out both trees onto cardboard.

Step 3

Cover the smaller tree with a thick layer of crackle paint. Don't be afraid to make the layer really thick as the more paint you apply the better the crackles will be and leave to dry.

Step 4

Paint the bigger tree with acrylic paint. No need to paint the middle of the tree as it won't be visible any way. When it dries - add some bling. I used Stickles "Star Dust"

Step 5

When dry layer the two trees with 3d mounting tape.

Step 6

Your tree is now finished and ready to embellish.

Hope you enjoyed Olga's tutorial. If you try this out please link it back to this post so that the Shabby Girls can pop in and have a look and if you check the side bar we have got links to all our past tutorials if you need some more shabby inspiration.

Don't forget to check out our Christmas challenge and Tallulah Belles our sponsor this month.
