But before we have a ‘Non -Sewer Shabby Revolt’ on our hands:

Our challenge for you this month is to create your project using items from your SEWING BOX.

Carol

Carol Mead is the owner of Tattered Inspirations, a business which promotes her mixed media art, vintage scrapbooking kits and her love of watercolours. Carol has been a scrapbooker for 12 years and is particularly drawn to using collage, mixed media and vintage embellishments on her pages. Her vintage kits and cabochons for scrapbooking sell on her etsy store and have been a most surprising success with scrapbookers and craft people from around the world.

Carol sources her charms and beads from China and Malaysia, ribbons and buttons from antique shops and has formed relationships with several vintage suppliers for laces and ephemera. In her non-art life she runs a large organization but she would rather be creating in her little art room, listening to music and watching the birds!

About me......

I have loved and been involved with "art and making stuff" for as long as I can remember.

I have had a very happy and rewarding career in art and design education before becoming a stay at home mum, relishing family life and bringing up two gorgeous daughters.

Along with some part time work I have had the fortunate luxury of being able to pursue my arty crafty pursuits eg. scrapbooking, quilting, embroidery, printmaking, and photography.

Colour, pattern and texture, in any shape or form excite me, along with any thing old ,used, loved and vintage.

I am a 36 year old "girl" - married to Knut (my husband) and we live Hamar/Norway with our 5 beautiful children. When I don't drive my children to activities and practice, I love to scrapbook - that's my passion! I discovered scrapbooking in 2007 and was hooked right away! We would like to say a big Shabby thank you to all who applied for a position on the our LGS Design Team.
The work that was submitted was gorgeous and like we usually do for our monthly challenges we had a tough job narrowing it down.

The quality of the work sent in was outstanding, and even if there isnt enough places at this time, we certainly know who we will be asking in the future!
Originally we were only choosing four, but now ended up with five.

The successful applicants have all been emailed and are very excited to be joining us.

Over the next week or so we will be announcing them here individually so stay tuned.
We love the work of the new Shabby Girls and am sure that you will too.

FAREWELL TO JENNEKE

We are saying a very sad farewell to one of the original team members.

Jenneke has been a part of the team since we first started just over a year ago and her commitment to the blog and her gorgeous funky shabby style has played a big part in making 'Let's Get Shabby' what it is today.

We are going to miss your projects here Jenneke

We wish you every success and luck with all your scrapping endeavours and with life itself...
