Some christmas goodies

The shabby girls have been creating some christmas cards for two raks that I am going to find hard to part with.
Here are some pics of them with some scrap goodies I put together.
Rak 1

Rak 2

There are a few more cards still on the way so if you are one of the lucky winners you will have a surprise or two.

Just what do you need to do to be in the running. Post a comment on this post telling us your favorite christmas memory and make sure you are following the shabby blog and we will do a random draw on the 18th Nov. The shabby girls will be sharing their favorite memory too so make sure you pop into their blogs as well.

Looking forward to hearing all your stories.

Absolutely beautiful cards, ladies. I have been a follower!

My favorite Christmas memory is my Aunt Shelley would always come in from college and stay with us... she is one of those "fun aunts" so you never know what we would do. Then my grandparents would be there 1st thing in the morning to watch us open presents... so the visitors to our house is what made Christmas special to me! Thanks for the chance to win!

Oh your RAK is beautiful...I want to win! My favorite memory is when I still believed in Santa and on Christmas Eve I could've sworn I heard bells ringing from a sleigh swooping across the sky. I ran as fast as I could to the window to see him. Of course he was "gone" but I can still remember that "feeling" of truly believing he was real....thanks for the chance.

Yummo...gorgeous cards girls. My favourite memory of Christmas would have to be when I was a child (long ago lol) waking up extremely early on Christmas morning to find what I thought was "hundreds" (of course there weren't that many) of little presents all neatly wrappped (probably with the paper from the previous Christmas) tied to the tree with string. My Mum would wrap up little things like a couple of lollies, a handkerchief, a homemade doll/toy and lots of other little treasures none of which cost very much but my Christmas morning seemed to last forever.

Wonderful cards! All so beautiful :)

My favourite Christmas memory is of when I was about 5 and I woke up during the night on Christmas Eve. I was certain I saw Santa and quickly closed my eyes again. It might have been a dream but in the morning I was convinced it had happened. It really made that Christmas magical.

Wow, what gorgeous cards! I don't know if I could use them ...might have to keep them for myself if I won;)

My favourite Christmas memory is the way every year my dad would seal up our lounge room so that no one could get in before the parents woke up :) Made christmas morning So exciting!

Beautiful cards!!
I agree with Kirsty and would have to keep one for myself!!

My favourite Christmas memory is the year that my children are old enough to get sooooooo excited about waking up and finding lots and lots of presents. And seeing my whole family together, relaxed and spending quality time with each.

I follow!!!! It's lovely reading everyone's christmas memories!

When I was small Mum and Dad worked really hard on Christmas eve, after me and my sister had gone to bed. They put up the tree, decorated the house, left sooty footprints beside the fire place along with a plate which always contained a half eated mince pie when we ran downstairs to the magic of Christmas morning! Wonderful memories!

Beautiful cards ladies! My fav memory of Xmas's as a child were going to my Grandmothers house for lunch. She was an amazing cook with an old wood fire oven, the things that came out of it were AWESOME!! My favourite beside the usual turkey etc were these beautiful cakes she made shaped like a peach with orange and red jelly crystals all over them, held together with cream, with glossy lemon leaves on the plate for decoration YUM YUM!!! they looked just like real peaches!

What lovely work!
My favourite Christmas memory is Christmas Day 1999 - the due date of my second child. My sister who is a midwife kept reassuring me that all would be OK if I went into labour (we were in a rural area with an hour or more to the nearest hospital) and she'd packed some stuff 'just in case'! I was stressing out because I was still dealing with the knowledge that my oldest child was developmentally delayed and my Nanna offered lots of reassurance. Then my sisters, brother, parents and niece all made guesses when the baby was going to arrive and hubby and I agreed to publish the winner's name in the birth notice. I can't believe it's nearly ten years ago now!

Hi I am a follower
Wow Stunning cards!!!!!
I adore christmas time the street smells of winter and oranges...
When i was younger and still at home my little sis and i shared a room and we put out our stockings, milk and shortbread for santa and carrots for the reindeer before going to bed..we had to get to sleep before santa came!!!
We slept with the curtains in our room open to a dark sky and stars waiting quietly to hear Santa and the reindeers jingling on there way to our house...we lived in a flat back then and worried Santa wouldnt be able to get in...fear we not because on christmas morning we would go to mum and dads room and then dad would go and check to see if santa had been........woooohooooo of course he had been he was magical!!!!!
Today at our house our boys who are now 19 and 16 come to our room every xmas morning so that there Dad can check and see if Santa has called carrying on the tradition that hopefully will eventually be passed on to there families in the future.
Hugs

When I was young we had a quince orchard behind our house. It was the last of the market gardens in the area. Twelve days before Christmas, never a day earlier because my mum wouldn't let us, we would go with my dad behind the house and into the orchard. On one side of the rows of trees was a huge windbreak of pines. We would walk the row until dad chose one that had a branch easy enough to access to take home for our Christmas tree. He would saw off the limb and we would drag it home to decorate it. Even today the smell of quince, and of course pine, reminds me of those days before Christmas.

My fave xmas memory involves copious amounts of alcohol, a ton of laughs and a swing set. Upside down instructions, left over pieces and ropes instead of chains just to confuse us. Finally in bed at 2am only to be woken at 6 with the excited squeals of 'Santa got us a swing set!!' Makes it all worthwhile. [the next year Santa brought a trampoline but he was 'too busy' to put it up so daddy and pop put it up after breakfast. ;-) ]

My favourite Christmas Memory was the ritual of putting all the glass ornaments on the real tree and being given the honour of placing the fairy on top. I was the eldest of seven children so was awarded this lovely task. Magical.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is sitting with my mom and brothers and stringing popcorn and cranberries onto string to use for tree decorations. You had to be careful with the cranberries though as they were tough and the needle would stick you at times.

Beautiful cards ladies, WOW!! I am definitely following!

My favorite Christmas memory is when I was 15 or 16 and my Dad had alot of time off from work. Everyday for a week before Christmas he and I went to the PX (military shop-we were stationed in Frankfurt, Germany) and bought presents for my Mother. It was such a wonderful time together!

my favourite memory of Christmas is being at my Gramma's on Christmas eve with all my siblings and my cousins and aunts and uncles. it was so fun. then the drive home my Dad would tell us that the red light that we saw in the sky was Rudolf and we had better get home quick and get into bed so Santa didn't miss us since he wouldn't stop at our house if we were still awake.

My special memory of Christmas was in 1981. Almost 28 years ago. My first child was born on december 21. I breast feeded her, but that was not enough. So the first days the nurses gave her at night a bottle of milk too.
But that Christmas night a nurse brought me my little baby for breastfed. Just the two of us that special night and my thoughts went to the Holy Mother Maria and her baby Jesus. It was so peaceful! I'll never forget!

Those are nice christmas card!

My most memorable xmas, was when my sister and a friend of hers spent the xmas days at my mothers house. Well actually it was on our way back home. We were traveling by train and had a whole coupe just for the three of us. We spend the whole trip (about 3 hours of travelling) singing songs! Not only xmas songs, but all kind of songs. That was fun time!
But actually i like every xmas. To me it's is family time but most of all celebrating the birth of Jesus.

Be blessed!

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of creativity that exists in our world today. We have become such a materialistic world but the cards above show how much emotion, whether it be love happiness or sadness etc, is still around and that the human race is still able to show such wonderful feelings....

One of my favorite memories was all the family piling into the car on Thanksgiving night and driving downtown to see the city Christmas lights turned on. then we would walk around and look at all the beautifully decorated and lighted store windows. Some of the stores would do fabulous holiday scenes with moving figures - so magical!
Love these cards - thanks for the chance to win.

I think mine was when my Mum bought my younger brother a stereo for Christmas and it was in a huge box that was not the stereo box. When he opened it up he just burst into tears. He was only about 12 at the time. And then me and my Mum both burst into tears. I know a strange christmas memory but we do have a strange family!!

oh, i don't know how i missed those beautiful cards the first time, but i'm glad i saw this little reminder! i think my favorite Christmas memory are all sorts of memories rolled up into one! i love the fact that we get Christmas pajamas every year on Christmas eve. and i love how each Christmas morning, the only thing that lights our house are the tree lights and Christmas candles. this will be my 2nd christmas that i can't be with my family(i live out of state), but i'll still hold to these traditions...and i'll feel a little closer to home!

New tradition and memory is being my husbands mother is from Holland. We didnt do any Christmas related with her culture when her husband was alive . Now we celebrated for the first time last year St Nicholas Day and I remember the Black Petes and trying chirstmas Dutch food. The kids enjoyed the day as well. Well be going this year!!!

One of my favorite memories is from last year! We'd all given and opened presents and one of the "forgotten Presents" was handed to me. Upon opening it I saw what I thought was some computer soft wear. I was a bit daunted as I do not understand technology. When I took a closer look at one of the boxes I saw it was a collection of all of my old family videos which had been painstakingly transferred on to CD's by the partners of my two girls. They hold so many happy memories of years gone by, and include Christmas' with my Dad and Nanna who are sadly no longer with us. I was overwhelmed and sobbing uncontrolably, and to top it all one of them got a video of my reaction on their phone, (grrrr) which is hilarious to look back on now. The CD brought back so many happy memories, and I will always treasure them .........

Gorgeous cards ladies ...

As a child I truly don't recall very many Christmases and as an adult I try and make Christmas very special in our house ... but the one Christmas that I do remember, those memories I cherish.

I must have been close to the age of 'not believing' shall we say. I was visiting my grandparents [and I was the eldest grandchild] and as a family, extended family, we all came together for Christmas. Many of us were in 'the lounge' that was rarely used and the front door bell rang. I knew that I wasn't supposed to open the door to persons unknown and I recall an uncle saying for me to open the door ... OMG I did ... and there was a big Santa sack sitting on the front door and I truly did see Santa walking down the pathway ...

The magic of Christmas ...

Must scrap that memory one day.
