Hi there Shabby girls.
It is my turn this month for a mid challenge tip or step and seeing as this months challenge is to make a handmade embellie and I love to make flowers I thought I'd show you all how I did mine on my challenge layout. I was inspired by the Prima ones out at the moment to try and make something similar. I didn't get that look but love them anyway.
Step 1
From some old dress making patterns cut 2 strips roughly 12 inches long. I 2 inches and 1 3 inches roughly. lol I don't measure these things.

Step 1
From some old dress making patterns cut 2 strips roughly 12 inches long. I 2 inches and 1 3 inches roughly. lol I don't measure these things.

Secure center with a few staples, repeat for the second strip and layer them together with a button or a bling center.Once I had a play with one I couldn't stop and made three. Each one slightly different.
Back flower- My first one, made with the folded edge out and kept flattish.
Right side- Made with the folded edge in and scrunched a little.
Left side-Made with the fold uneven to allow for a more ruffled look.

And here is my flower, the right one, on the layout. Once I had it on there I couldn't resist scrunching it some more.
Well I hope that I have inspired you to try and make up some of your own flowers.
I have been checking out the entries we have had in so far and if they are anything to go by it is looking like another tough job for us shabby girls.
Oh and while I am here you all might want to keep an eye on the blog as you never know just what we have got up our sleeves for you very soon.
