We have a special treat in store for you this month. 'Let's Get Shabby' dter Chimene took photos of her layout for this month's sample as she was working on it and is going to share it all with us here. Looks as though her handy dandy stapler gets just as much as a work out as mine. So grab a coffee, sit back and see just how Chimene put her gorgeous shabby creation together.
Tea Time Layout Steps
by Chimene
Start by randomly painting some cardboard with a lot of gesso using a big brush
Pull apart a bath sponge, draped it in a big circle on the painted cardboard
and use a stapler to attach it making sure that it had low and high areas.
Add gesso onto some areas of the bath sponge for texture.
Add some wide white lace in a smaller circle showing the bath sponge underneath. Bunching it up leaves an opening for the photo.
Put the picture in the middle and use a black and white picture so that the colours and texture of the layout would be more of a feature.
Add some pink lace in the bottom corners and above the photo.
Put a piece of white lace on the bottom of the picture and some smaller white ribbon around the rest of the photo.
Make a big heart around the picture with a pink pearl necklace
using some glue dots and a needle and thread to keep it in place.
Now for the part I love, add all the beautiful flowers, butterflies and other stuff on it. Some in groups and some items seperately.
And here is the beautiful end result.
It's so much fun to make a layout like this.
And with all the gesso, layers, lace, bling and beautiful details you can make a gorgeous Shabby page!
Making this page took me 1.5 hours.
Have fun girls!
